Top 5 Date Night Restaurants In Toronto

Toronto is a foodies heaven! There are so many amazing restaurants for a date night to try that it’s hard to pick a few great places.

We love doing date nights, sometimes several times a week and we love discovering new places in the city. When we find great places we tend to go back a lot. These are some of my 5 favourite date night restaurants in Toronto that I highly recommend.

They are not in any order as they all offer something unique.

1)     AMA - Argentinian Supper Club

IG: @ama.always

AMA is the best Argentinian restaurant located on Queen St West in Toronto! The ambiance is dark, romantic, great service and the food is incredible. I recommend making reservations on the weekends as its not a big place and will get very busy.

The food is all fresh local ingredients from local organic farms. The meat is freshly imported from Argentina daily, is grass-fed, hormone-free, antibiotic free Argentinian beef.

You can’t go wrong no matter what you order. The first time you go, you must have the Empanadas, Salad Del Sol & the AMA Carne – Entrana paired with a nice Argentinian Malbec. Don’t forget the Dulce De Leche crepe for desert! They also have amazing Vegan, Vegetarian and Gluten-Free options as well.

Wednesdays at AMA is Dollar Emapanadas!

Check them out on Instagram for a sneak peek off all the delicious food.

**UPDATE - Unfortunately it makes me sad to say that on August 15th, 2020 AMA was their last day of operations and have officially closed their doors.

2)      Montecito

IG: @montecitotoronto

Located in Toronto’s Entertainment District, this is our one of our main favourite places for dinner in the city. They have daily specials, including our favourite Buck-A-Shuck Oysters on Thursday nights starting at 5pm with a purchase of a bottle of wine. They host a lot of special events especially around different holidays so be sure to sign up for their mailing list.

The food is phenomenal. It is gourmet & delicious, with lots of healthy options. The menu changes frequently so if you come once a week you will likely notice most things changed on the menu from the previous week. We’ve never eaten anything we did not like!

The atmosphere is romantic, sophisticated & elegant and the service is fantastic. We drove by once and decided we should try it and that’s how we started coming here so often.

**UPDATE - Unfortunately due to this pandemic, it makes me very sad that Montecito has permanently closed their doors as of November 10, 2020.

3)      Watermark Restaurant and Lounge

If you want a more laid-back atmosphere that’s classy with a beautiful rooftop view & great service, then you must come for dinner here. Their lakeview pool lounge is our number one summer hang out.

If you’re coming for dinner, the dinner menu is different than the poolside menu. The food is exceptional, gourmet and reasonably priced. They have vegan, vegetarian and gluten free options as well.

4)      Copacabana

IG: @copacabanato

Best Brazilian steakhouse in Toronto. They have 4 locations and we’ve been to 3 of the 4 and 2 of the locations we’ve gone many times. The restaurant is an all-you-can-eat that also has a large salad bar offering many unique and delicious salads, potatoes, pasta, beans, fish, fresh baked breads, as well as other starters.

Once you are seated at your table you get a small card that’s blue on one side that says SIM (keep it coming) and red on the other side that says NAO (slow down/no more). As the carvers come by your table with the grilled meats, this will tell them if you are eating more or not. They have 16 different types of meat and if you like something in particular, you can let the carvers know to bring that one around again.

Fridays and Saturdays, depending on the location, they have shows like Samba & Silk Dancers, a live band, etc. If you go on the weekends, I highly recommend making a reservation as they get very busy.

The most elegant & romantic location is definitely the downtown one on Adelaide St.

5)      Lena Restaurante

IG: @lenarestaurante

Located beside the Eaton Center attached to Saks Fifth is Lena. An amazing modern, vibrant restaurant that offers South American, Spanish & Italian cuisine.

It’s romantic, elegant with modern décor. After 7:30pm from Wednesday to Saturdays walk down to their lower level lounge, Bar Lala to enjoy cocktails and specially selected South American appetizers while enjoying some Latin music.

The food is gourmet and exceptional and you can’t go wrong with anything. I would highly recommend you try the Empanadas, Quail Eggs, 12 Vegetable Salad, Beef Tartare and the Veal Milanese.

There you have it! My favourite romantic restaurants for a great date night in Toronto. Good service is just as important as the food otherwise it ruins the full experience.

If you do check out any of my recommendations, please tell me your feedback either by sending a DM on Instagram or in the comments below, as its super important to me and I want to know about your experiences here.
