Where To Eat In Niagara-On-The-Lake

A street in historic niagara-on-the-lake after the rain

We have been coming to Niagara-on-the-lake consistently over the last several years and we’ve been to so many restaurants in the area so I’ve put together a list of the restaurants I highly recommend from the ones we’ve been to. So when deciding where to eat in Niagara-on-the-lake, check out my picks below.

This is not sponsored, I am sharing the restaurants I love because of their service, food, ambiance, authenticity & reasonable prices.

The Pie Plate

This is a small family-owned cafe & restaurant right off the main road as you’re driving into old historic Niagara-on-the-lake. They grow their veggies, herbs & fruit in their garden with so many different varieties of herbs & veggies that they use in their recipes.

There is a gorgeous wrap-around patio with bar type seating. Right now because of the pandemic, they are short-staffed so their indoor seating hasn’t opened yet but by the time you read this, it may have changed.

All their baked goods & pastries are made fresh daily & are recipes from the owners! I’ve never had anything here I didn’t like! Their baked goods are unlike anything I’ve ever had. They are unbelievably delicious, I just can’t say enough you will have to try it yourself.

There is free parking around the side & the back. They start serving their lunch menu on the patio as of 12 pm but if you come between 10 am - 12 pm nothing is stopping you from getting your pastry & coffee and enjoying it by yourself on the patio.

Also, if you like a good margarita, Maddy makes amazing gourmet margaritas. That’s my go-to lunch drink here. They also have seasonal peach & apples pizzas using seasonal local fruits so be sure to ask about that.

The Old Firehall Restaurant

This restaurant is just south of Niagara-on-the-lake located in St. David’s which is still considered Niagara-on-the-lake. They have a beautiful patio & their service is amazing. This is a great place for date nights because at nights their lights create a nice romantic atmosphere.

I love their pasta & salads and they have a fantastic service! There is also free parking on their property.

Tiara Restaurant at the Queens Landing Hotel

This is a restaurant that’s part of one of the historic hotels in Niagara-on-the-lake. There is free parking on the property and they have spectacular views of the marina with a gorgeous garden patio with a fountain.

The food is seriously amazing, gourmet & you can’t go wrong with anything you order. We had the heirloom beet salad, shrimp pasta and the dry-rubbed beef short ribs.

The location is perfect to take a sunset walk down by the lake after dinner. Just walk past the marina and turn left.

Ruffino’s

This is an authentic Italian restaurant located right before you enter old historic Niagara-on-the-lake. They make all their pasta in house fresh every day & use farm fresh eggs.

Thanks to Covid, they created a beautiful creative outdoor patio that I just love. They also have a little shop inside.

The food is unbelievable. You must try the Squash Blossoms antipasti, woodfired pizza, fish and homemade pasta!

There are a few other restaurants I really loved but it’s been so long since we went and one of them was on NYE of 2019 the menu was different, and there are a few more I want to try so stay tuned because I plan to do either another blog post or a YouTube video and I will be including a few more restaurants.

I would love to know have you been to any of these restaurants? It’s important for me to know your feedback when I recommend anything so if you do go please send me a message on Instagram and tell me about your experience!
